Listen to the show Here!

Welcome to CULTCHA Clash Outer National: Global-Community-Radio Broadcasting, Online Marketplace, Digital Zine & Subversive Propagandist Organization.
CULTCHA Clash Outer National has been broadcasting for one week now, but has consisted of pre-existing DJ mixes, mostly made by me, a few original tunes and a few others that have been added to the stations playlist. Tonight will feature the premiere original show, specifically for CULTCHA Clash Outer National, of many to come, hopefully!
I am known for spinning vinyl, so tonight's show consists of tunes from vinyl releases that I've purchased within the past 6 months, or so.

Floor Weapons, Vol. 1
Purchase From Bandcamp
No Escape / Black Mass
Buy "No Escape / Black Mass" Here!
The first few tunes are by G36, from Nagasaki, Japan, who have been described as Anarcho-Dub Punks. They fuse the sparseness and depth of the heaviest Reggae versions with dirty, post-industial noise with a sound that should catch young and old Dub-heads, alike. They first came to my attention as producers of Nazamba "Vex" which I initially thought was Kevin Martin aka The Bug (in the same vein, for sure).
The first tune is "Mass Surveillance" from their Floor Weapons, Vol. 1 available from Bandcamp on the Berlin, Germany based label, Pressure. It is followed by "Black Mass" from a double A side 12" on Hotline Records, "No Escape / Black Mass."

Solypsis - Hybrids
Buy from Bandcamp Here!

The next two songs are from Solypsis aka James Miller, Founder of Digital Vomit and Dismissive Records and friend of mine. The album is called Hybrids and, as the name suggests, it finds a quite impressive group of electronic / experimental artist remixing his work. I chose to play "Unperfect (Justin Broadrick Reshape)" and the Meat Beat Manifesto remix of "Perpetually Out Of Control." It's available on Bandcamp from Component Records.

Meat Beat Manifesto spawned from Swindon, UK in 1987 when Perennial Divide members Johnny Stephens and John Corrigan aka Jack Dangers began mixing elements of Hip-Hop, Dub Reggae, Industrial, Electro, Punk, Disco & House in chop-up-constructed soundscapes of urban paranoia and drug fueled frenzy. They continued to be hugely influential when the Rave movement took off in the early nineties through Techno, Jungle, Drum & Bass, Dubstep and other genres, in spite of being relatively obscure to the mainstream (with the exception of their hit, "Prime Audio Soup," prominently appearing on The Matrix OST).

Meat Beat Manifesto - Opaque Couche
Buy from Bandcamp Here!
The past 2 LP's have been on the Tino Corp. affiliate, Flexidisc and find Dangers exploring conceptualized, minimal, synth-laden soundscapes, experiments in sounds and rhythms, that reflect an evolution in sound and vision from a masterful artist, and this LP, Opaque Couche, continues in that direction. It is primarily Jack Dangers this time around, with a guest on a track or two.
"Pin Drop" is from the 12" Single, followed by "Bolinas" with Ken Gibson on Twang. Available from Bandcamp.

Download - Unknown Room
Buy from Bandcamp Here!

The next two tunes are the Cevin Key project, Download, from the latest LP entitled Unknown Room. The first selection from this one is the cyber-funky "Gaslighter." The next is a dark, foreboding dub-abstraction called "23 Years." This one is on Sub-Conscious Records and is available from Bandcamp.

Test Dept Disturbance
Buy Test Dept - Disturbance Here!
Next is two tracks from the latest Test Dept album, Disturbance (their first since 1998's Tactics For Evolution). "Speak Truth To Power" Sets the tone for the album and fans of the group can see, little has changed. It's angry, angst-ridden, fed-up with injustice and inequity, harnessing the power of protest and the spirit of revolution...these Londoners are speaking to those who want real change on both sides of the Atlantic."GBH84" is the second tune from this one. On One Little Indian Records.

Industrial Accident: The Story Of Wax Trax! Records
Buy from Wax Trax! Records
The next song is a Bowie-esque ballad from 1994 by Chris Connelly called "Shipwreck," off of the compilation, Industrial Accident: The Story Of Wax Trax! Records. There is a Blu-Ray movie that accompanies this album that tells the tale of a legendary record label that brought groups like Ministry, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Front 242, Coil and KMFDM to America's attention. Available from Wax Trax! Records

Jah Division - Dub Will Tear Us Apart Again
Buy from Bandcamp Here!
"Disorder Dub" is from Brooklyn's Jah Division, who released Dub Will Tear Us Apart originally in 2003 and it has been out of print and much sought after ever since, so EJRC (Ernest Jenning Record Company) re-mastered an rereleased it (with bonus material!).
Seven Joy Division remakes in a dub style, and the bonus 7" contains 2 Jamaican covers "Fu Manchu" and the Jackie Mittoo classic "Champion Of The Arena Dub" (featured on this show!) are all packed in to this sweet package. Definitely worth picking up.

Pay It All Back Volume 7
Buy from Bandcamp Here!
The following couple of tunes are produced by one of my personal favorites, Adrian Sherwood of On-U Sound Records. These tunes come from Volume 7 in the Pay It All Back compilation series from On-U Sound (the last of which came out in 1996). Sherwood has pushed the boundaries of Dub relentlessly and has consistently managed to create a sound that seems far ahead of the times, this release is no exception featuring a formidable cast of stalwarts as well as newer voices. My first pick for this show is a massive collaboration, "Toby's Place" on which Gary Lucas (The Magic Band) with Arkell & Hargreaves come together on an avant-garde, eclectic, psychedelic journey that sounds out-of-this-world. The next tune is "Slave State" by Ghetto Priest featuring Junior Delgado & 2 Bad Card. Every track on this LP is a winner, it gets my highest recommendation, available from Bandcamp.

Dub Me Records
Visit Dub Me Records at Bandcamp Here!
Macka B - Muzikal Warriahz 7"
Buy from DubVendor UK Here!
The next selection is produced the i-dren and Arizona Dub-Master Jah B and his Dub Me Records, it's a 7" single version of Macka B "Muzikal Warriahz" released by Italy's Roots Cooperation label. A hot steppers track with conscious lyrics and a tough version on the B side. Check out Dub Me Records on Bandcamp.

The Darts - Subsonic Dream
Buy From Alternative Tentacles Here!

Switching the style for the final selection, "Subsonic Dream" from the Phoenix, AZ & L.A., California Garage Rock band The Darts is on the 7" Single on Dirty Water / Alternative Tentacles Records. Both sides are powerful and driving, and I'm really looking forward to hearing the LP I Like You But Not Like That, which is out now. The Darts, after their recent appearance at the Las Vegas Punk Rock Bowling show, are currently on tour in the U.S., For information, check the website.
